Associate Ministers
Aids the Pastor in all aspects of service to the church
Deacons
Supports the Pastor in attending to the various needs and ministries of the church
Trustees
Officers empowered by the Deacon body to take on the responsibility of the church’s finance, legal, and other business matters
Altar and Flower
Prepares the altar for worship services and decorates the sanctuary and foyer
Because We Care, Grief and Comfort
Serves individuals who have been absent for a time from the fellowship. Demonstrates God’s love and care to the sick and shut-in members of St Mary by sending cards, making phone calls, and visiting them in their homes or the hospital
Benevolent
To assist those who have emergency needs with finances, housing or food assistance
Brotherhood
Serves the men of the church through bible study, prayer, Caring ministries, mission, education, evangelism, fellowship, and special events
Christian Education
Assists the whole church in developing and maintaining a growing and effective religious education
Christians w/o Partners
Unites Christian singles through fellowship, bible study, and recreational activities. Assists young singles in laying a spiritual foundation for building a rich and rewarding life and helps more established singles discover a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ
David Project
Assists young men through rites of passage. Educates them on their African American heritage and on being men in this world
Deaconess & Ministers’ Wives
Aids and Supports the responsibilities, duties, and activities related to their roles as Deacons and Ministers. Criteria: Deacon's wife or widow, Pastor's wife or other minister's wife or widow, affiliated with the church
Praise Dancers
Offers inspiring praise and worship to God through interpretive dance
Drama
Demonstrates biblical principles through dramatic presentations
Evangelism & Outreach
Wins lost souls to Christ through witnessing (sharing what God has done) throughout the community
Health and Welfare
Provides health care to church members, visitors and the community. Develops programs and gives information that encourages good health. Services are inclusive or but not limited to screening, teaching, health promotion, and disease prevention
Hospitality
Assists the ministries of the church with menu planning and preparation and is responsible for the upkeep of the kitchen
Library
Provides and maintains books and materials appropriate for the church that can be checked out by the membership
Marriage
Develops a fellowship to support and sustain the sanctity of marriage. Creates a harmonious relationship between couples through sound biblical teaching
Media Ministry
Provides audio and video services, and assists in the setup and operation of audio equipment for recording and sound production lighting, video projection, and classroom use of media equipment
Music - Choir
People who use their voices in the praise and worship of God. This is the most active musical group in the church leading in morning and evening worship services and performing concerts and musicals during the year as an effort to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ
New Members
Welcomes and receives information from new members. Coordinates and conducts training for new members
Prayer and Intercession
Offers daily prayer for the needs of the Body of Christ and responds to prayer requests. Weekly group prayer meeting is every Wednesday 7:00 p.m. -7:30 p.m.
Ruth Project
Takes young women through the rites of passage, educating them on their African American heritage and what it means to be a women in this world
Seniors - Loaves and Fishes
Provides dinner for the elderly members each month. Outreaches to shut-ins by providing fellowship and meals. Provides emergency foods by maintaining a food pantry
Sisterhood
Provides support opportunities for women desiring spiritual growth by offering Bible studies, service projects, and events
Ushers
Promotes the divine fellowship of the church and establishes a setting appropriate for worship. Assists, directs, and enhances the worship service during services.
Welcome & Greeters
Youth
Aids young people grow towards the character of Jesus Christ in a nurturing environment, which encourages and motivates them to explore, discover and carry out their faithful duties as Christians
